Are you a breastfeeding mom looking to increase your milk supply? You need a remedy that’s not only effective but is easy and convenient to prepare. Overnight oats are a delicious way to support your milk supply, whether you’ve been struggling to make enough milk for your little one or want to stock up for the future. They are specially prepared by you the night before and feature lactogenic foods, which are known or suspected to increase your breast milk supply. If you’re ready to try lactation overnight oats, you’re in the right place. In this article, we’ll share 10 of the tastiest galactagogue-rich overnight oats recipes to get you filling more bottles. 

1. Banana Nut Overnight Oats

For anyone who’s a true banana fan, this overnight oat recipe is the way to go. Grab the following ingredients to make these upright:

  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 1/2 Ripe Bananas
  • 1 Tbsp Greek Yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp Chopped Walnuts 
  • 1/2 Cup Milk (coconut milk, almond milk, dairy milk, oat milk, etc.) 
  • 2 Tsp of Honey 
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/8 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 Tsp Vanilla Extract

Begin by adding your oats and milk to a cup or small bowl. Ensure that the milk covers all the oats. Then add in the rest of the ingredients in this order: 

  1. Greek yogurt
  2. Bananas
  3. Honey
  4. Cinnamon
  5. Nutmeg 
  6. Vanilla
  7. Walnuts 

Place your mason jar or bowl in the refrigerator and enjoy your nutritious breakfast in the morning. 

2. Maple and Brown Sugar Lactation Overnight Oats 

If you’re more into traditional breakfast flavors, this maple and brown sugar variation is sure to become your go-to. To give it a try, stock up on the following ingredients: 

  • 1 Cup of Oats 
  • 1/2 Tsp of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup of Milk 
  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1Tbsp Maple Syrup 

There’s no layering with this recipe; just throw all the ingredients into a cup or bowl, stir, and chill overnight. Instead of maple syrup, you can use honey for some natural sweetness. 

3. Vanilla Lactation Overnight Oats

This recipe is sure to satisfy your early-morning vanilla cravings. It features vanilla flavor in two forms for some serious kick. It’s also got several grams of protein. Here are the ingredients you need for prep: 

  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt 
  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Honey or another sweetener of your choice. 
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract

Add all of these ingredients to a bowl or cup, mix thoroughly, and refrigerate overnight. I like to add strawberries on top of mine (or whatever berries I have on hand)

4. Strawberry Chocolate Lactation Overnight Oats

Lactation overnight oats can be as indulgent as you want them to be. Here’s an option for chocolate lovers. With only 4 simple ingredients, it’s incredibly easy to make and is a favorite among newbies who are just getting into preparing overnight oats. 

Here are the ingredients to pick up: 

  • 1/2 to 3/4 Cup Sliced Strawberries
  • 1/2 Cup oats
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • 3/4 Cup of Milk (any kind of milk you’d like)

Start by adding your oats and milk to a container. Then, add your strawberries on top and drizzle some chocolate over them. 

5. Tropical Coconut Lactation Overnight Oats 

With a baby at home, you probably don’t have time for a leisurely lounge on the beach. Thankfully, with some tropical fruit like coconut and just a few minutes of prep time, you can transform breakfast into a mini tropical vacation. Here are the ingredients you need: 

  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Cup Diced Pineapples
  • 1/2 Tsp of Sweetener (Honey, Agave Nectar, Sugar, etc.)
  • 1 Tsp Shredded Coconut

Simply pour all the ingredients except the coconut flakes into a cup. Mix thoroughly with a spoon, ensuring that the oats become moistened, and then chill overnight. In the morning, before eating the oats, sprinkle the coconut flakes on top. 

6. Berry Lactation Overnight Oats

Aside from the fact that they’re tasty, berries are super high in heart-healthy antioxidants and other nutrients you need to keep up with your little one. To get the benefits, first gather your ingredients: 

  • 1/2 Cup Steel Cut Oats 
  • 3/4 Cup Milk
  • 1 Tsp Ground Flax Seed
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Cup of Berries (whichever berries you like)
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

Mix all the dry ingredients together. Then, add your milk and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Stir in the berries (or leave them on top) and refrigerate for at least 8 hours. Enjoy the next morning. 

7. Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Lactation Overnight Oats

Do you want to wake up to Reese’s peanut butter cups? Who doesn’t? This lactation overnight oats recipe will remind you of the candy, so if you’re a fan, trying it out is a no-brainer. It features thick, rich peanut butter and sweet chocolate chips, and a few other ingredients for depth of flavor. Here are the ingredients you need to make it a success: 

  • 1/2 Cup of Oats 
  • 2/3 Cup of Milk 
  • 1/3 Cup of Greek Yogurt 
  • 1/4 Tsp of Salt 
  • 2 Tbsp of Peanut Butter 
  • 1/4 Cup of Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • Up to 2 Tbsp of Sweetener 
  • 1 Tbsp of Chia Seeds 

Put all of the ingredients above in a mason jar and put it in the refrigerator for 8 hours. 

8.  Cherry Almond Overnight  Lactation Oats

If you’re looking for a recipe that’ll wake up your tastebuds in the morning, this one is it. It’s got tangy cherries and crunchy almonds, which make for the perfect breakfast combination. 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 2 Tsp Chia Seeds
  • 3/4 Cup Cow’s Milk (or any alternative you prefer) 
  • 1 or 2 Tbsp of Dried Cherries 
  • Up to 2 Tbsp Chopped Almonds
  • 2 Drops Vanilla Extract 
  • 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

Combine all of the above ingredients together in a bowl and chill it in the fridge for at least 8 hours.

9. Pumpkin Pie Lactation Overnight Oats

Pumpkin pie is a delicious treat no matter the time of year. And you can indulge in it any time you want with pumpkin pie lactation overnight oats. First, gather the below ingredients: 

  • 1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Oats 
  • 1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt 
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract 
  • 1/4 Cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 2 Tsp Chia Seeds
  • 1/2 Cup Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1/2 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice 
  • Up to 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

Mix your almond milk, pumpkin puree, greek yogurt, vanilla, and maple syrup in a small bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix. 

10. Apple Cinnamon Overnight Lactation Oats

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Oats 

1/8 Cup Maple Syrup 

1/2 of an Apple (cubed)

1/2 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk 

1 Tsp Cinnamon
